Make Income and Minimize Work

The objective of this blog is to document my every move as my ideas synthesize into reality. From doing this, I hope the readers of this blog will pick up on my mistakes and help me improve on my ideas. In addition to my benefits, I believe this blog will help a lot of internet amateurs generate a decent income. Although cliche, yet fitting, I like to state that “there is no free lunch”. If you’ve come looking for a get rich quick scheme, you are in the wrong place. From this point on, I will make every effort to monetize my knowledge that I’ve acquired throughout the years.

I began constructing websites back in 2000 when only a handful of people knew how to use HTML. My first website was a Dragonball (Japanese animation) fan site, I was and still am captivated by Japanese animation. I snatched a domain name and some free hosting and revealed to the world a hideous neon colored monstrosity. Despite its appearance, within 3 months the website has generated over 600,000 impressions. I had no idea whether that’s a lot of traffic or not, but I was just ecstatic that people enjoyed my work. It was the perfect time to capture the a piece the internet, but I was only thirteen years old and I knew jack squat about monetizing a website. Unfortunately, that website came to an end after 5 months because the host went out of business and I just didn’t feel like looking for a new host.

Five years later, I was again captivated by another animation called Naruto. I created another website and this time I did monetize the website. Although the website was monetized, I would have worked on it regardless of the revenue. I had a passion for the the show and it was sole motivator that made me work countless hours on the content. Without a doubt, money is one of the most effective motivators, however even money’s tantalizing effects cannot motivate you to work endless hours on a topic you find repulsive. My point is, quality content manifests from a strong interest in the topic, and quality content itself drives traffic to your websites. The only reason why I monetized the website this time around was due to the hefty server fees that I had to fork out each month, and it was then that I grasped the idea of making an income from the website. I started with a subscription service on the website, allowing users to download premium content at the cost of $5 per month. It generated more than enough to cover the server fees. However, as the site grew I needed more servers and I realized that each additional server faced a diminishing return in revenue. Let me explain, one server generated $500 total revenue, two generated $1100 total revenue, three generated $1800 total revenue, and four generated $2000. As you can see, by adding the first server I gained $500 in revenue, the second I gained $600 in revenue, the third I gained $700 in revenue and by the fourth server I gained only $200 in revenue. Each server costs $250 a month so the fourth server was not financially viable. However, even though revenue faced a diminishing return, I noticed traffic increased when I added additional servers. So I had to utilize the increased traffic by putting up ads to cover the fixed server costs. I tried several companies, Adsense, Clicksor, and Valueclick. Adsense generated the most by far ($700 per week). As a side note, it’s not always necessarily true that Adsense generates the highest revenue, it really depends on the type content (I will get into this more when in future posts). At its peak, the website generated approximately $3000 net profit each month with about 10,000 unique visitors a day. That’s not a lot, but I only put in about 1 hour of work a week on the site to keep it running. My creation still stands, http://www.narutofob.com, however it does not belong to me anymore. The site in its current condition is probably barely surviving, it’s quite disheartening to look at because of all the hard work I put into it.

In my coming endeavors, my ultimate goal is to generate a decent monthly income with minimal amount of work hours per week. The way I am going to achieve this is to make auto-pilot websites. An auto-pilot website is a website that is self propelling and requires minimal to no content updates. Instead of making one very good website, I’ve decided to take another approach. I am going to fabricate a network of auto-pilot websites generating approximately $50 per month. To be more specific, my goal is to generate a total of $5000 a month (100 websites x $50 each per month). Along with achieving that goal, I will be investing my monthly income into anything that provides a safe decent return on investment. I will try to provide every possible detail of every single action, therefore those who follow my methods will generate a similar income.
