It has been quite a busy month. I’ve had exams every day for a week straight! Anyway, I’ve launched a new blog about the upcoming game StarCraft 2. I have not yet monetized it and probably will not for a little while. This website is more of a hobby for me. I’m quite a Blizzard game fanatic and I’ve enjoyed every single game released by that company. Although, they push back their release date on all games and make everyone wait a gazillion years. I came across several products that claim to boost page rank with Wikipedia links. Then I thought to myself, aren’t all links on Wikipedia ‘nofollow’ links? A ‘nofollow’ link informs some search engines that the link should not influence search engine ranking. Unless those products are teaching black hat methods, you aren’t walking down the free page rank boost aisle. Matt Cutts posted a video about ‘nofollow’ links and it certainly suggests that Wiki links won’t boost your search engine page ranking. However, I have read that if you’re a trusted editor on Wikipedia the ‘nofollow’ tags can be removed. Ding ding ding! So, those products were telling the truth. Yes, I admit it is possible, but the amount of work required to become a trusted editor is just silly.
